It is with great sadness we announce that Stephen (Steve) Michael Kinahan passed peacefully at the age of 61 in Powell River BC.

Steve was born in Trail, as a child his family lived in Montrose, Burns Lake, Dawson Creek and spent his teen years in Powell River BC. Steve is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Muriel Kinahan.  He leaves behind four children Sarah (Jacob) Kokura, Robert (Allison) Kinahan, Katrina (Joal) Vaz and Morgan Kinahan, plus seven grandchildren, Bethany, Judah, Andrew, Ezra, Norah, Wren and Ozias. He is survived by his siblings Paul (Donna), Kathleen (David) and Patrick (Jennifer) plus four nephews and four nieces as well as a great niece.

He joined the RCMP on December 7 1981 and graduated from Depot in Regina on June 14, 1982. During his service with the RCMP he was posted to Edson Detachment, Red Deer City, Red Deer Rural Highway Patrol, Grande Prairie Highway Patrol and retired from Red Deer City December 2001 with 20 years service. During his retirement he worked for the Coast Guard (lighthouses), Mustard Seed (Hope Farms, warehouse) and the city of Powell River (transit).

There will be a celebration of his life this

upcoming summer.
